Allow me to introduce myself.
We all have our own unique health journey and each of us experiences mountains and valleys, myself included.
I was born with an innate ability to heal, just like you - our bodies are designed to protect themselves. Our bodies are FOR us. However, it would not be until a few decades later that I realized what that meant and why it matters.
I was diagnosed with celiac disease at age nine. I had a year of incredible digestive issues with gas, tummy aches, and strange bowel movements.
In 2008 at a Christian Girls camp on a small island of beauty in upstate NY I accepted Christ and understood what it meant to have Jesus as the leader of my life.
I ran cross country and track through middle school, high school, and for a short time in college. Swimming and a few sprint triathlons came a few years later. I had a lot of fun, but the journey came with some ups and downs.
In 2014 I suffered from a stress fracture in two bones in my ankle. I was fast and looked fit, but I was not fueled well. I was nutrient and mineral depleted.
In 2019 I graduated from Gordon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double majoring in Psychology and Social work. I worked at Boston Children’s Hospital for two years as a Psychiatry Consultation Coordinator, and considered going back to school to be a counselor. However, I soon started to develop anxiety symptoms due to the stress and stories of children’s medical situations and experiences. I had the heart for this work, but I did not have the armor. I knew the value of what the psychiatry department was able to offer the patients, but I also had a gut feeling that nutrition and lifestyle could also play a big part in the healing puzzle.
In 2019 I started a deep dive into my own health journey. My menstrual cycle was inconsistent, acne became an issue, I was fatigued, slept poorly, my hair was falling out, and I had terrible anxiety symptoms. I felt confused and disconnected from myself. I went to my primary care doctor and had a blood test done to check two of my thyroid hormones. They all came back “normal.” But I didn’t feel normal. I felt far from normal. The doctor prescribed me medication and sent me on my merry way. I tried the medication for three days and did not like the way it made me feel. I stopped the medication and said, “Enough is enough. I need to take this into my own hands.” I did not feel listened to by the doctor and felt more confused after the appointments than before. So that began the research and the digging. I knew there had to be more for me. I knew deep down that the food I was eating and my lifestyle both played a big role in how I felt, so I started there and made changes step by step at a pace that felt sustainable to me.
In 2020 I married Kevin LeBlanc. He is my biggest cheerleader. I love being on his team. He loves people like crazy and loves Jesus even more. He loves holistic healthcare and is a chiropractor!
In 2021 I enrolled in the NTA - Nutritional Therapy Association - and becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner is an accomplishment I am so grateful for. I look at the root cause of your symptoms and provide you with lifestyle and whole food nutritional recommendations for a life that flourishes and enables you to love others and enjoy the people and places around you.
Since graduating from the NTA, I have been able to support women between the ages of 20-70. My clients are the best! They know their body can heal and know their body is FOR them. They want to get to the root cause of their issues and are very teachable - they ask the best questions. It is an honor to work with women who want to take back the reins and get to the bottom of the cause of their symptoms.
We can work WITH our body instead of against it.
